Madhava Vilasom Higher Secondary School (MVHSS), Thundathil was established in 1950 by late Varthoor A. Madhavan Pillai, a farsighted genius and visionary, with the intention of offering value-based and quality education to the locals of this area. The aim of this school is to help our students' community grow into good human beings capable of facing the challenges of the present world.

In the current scenario, it is essential that the students should excel not only in academics alone, but should also develop courtesy, discipline, social sensitivity, caring and sharing, nature-caring, and be imbibed with the traditional values and culture of our country. The school learning period is the best time to lay the foundation of the core values essential for the overall development of the future citizen of tomorrow’s world.

MVHSS Thundathil as a Lamp of Education, ignited by its Founder Manager has completed 70 years of long strides. Several thousands of students acquired knowledge from this School are flourishing in various positions in the society. I am blessed to get the opportunity to carry the baton as the Manager of the School since 1996. I will try the best to keep the prestige of this School to greater heights. My big salute to all the former and present teachers of this school for their dedicated and committed involvement in keeping the glory of this institution. Let us pray that this temple of knowledge spreads light to more and more youngsters in the years to come.
